Madeira has a subtropical climate which makes it attractive throughout the entire year.
Since the 19th century, Madeira is desired by its therapeutic qualities for curing diseases, specially breathing due to its mild climate characteristics, reason why it’s also known as the “Pérola do Atlântico” (Atlantic Pearl).
Between the sea and the mountains, the climate is perfect for the balance between body and soul far from the cold climate of other european countries.
What stands out is the natural flowers scent, the natural pools, the clear water, the fresh air from the mountains and the extracts of seaweed and plants, which makes it a moderate climate island, ideal for renewing energy.
In Porto Santo, we have the golden sand beach, whose therapeutic properties allow for a “rheumatic forum” sickness treatment, which includes a thalassotherapy centre with health services in the preventive and corrective field.
In Prazeres there is a location called “Caminho dos Pés Descalços”, a project from the Hotel Jardim Atlântico composed of natural elements from Madeira and Porto Santo (pines cones, wood, bay leaf, eucalyptus berry, mud, black and yellow sand, and pebble stones) where you should do the hike barefoot to get the reflexology and relaxation feeling.
